AVG does not slow your computer down, AVG is a poor anti virus program with a poor detection rate, only 82%, it is well known for missing more virus than it find, %26 when it does find a virus 9 times out of 10 cannot remove it.
It is said "only fools %26 kids use AVG"
Does agv 7.5 slow down computers?antivirus
Its never slowed mine down. Even if it did...so what! Id rather have a slow-working pc than a pc riddled with viruses!
Does agv 7.5 slow down computers?computer
No. AVG will not slow the computer down.
What slows down your computer is the programs and files you the user place in it. When was the last time you performed a disk cleanup or disk defrag?
See link below and follow 7 quick fixes for starters.
only once a day for a minute while it's updating your virus checker. It's the best free virus checker around - stick with it.
No, AVG is especially known for being very light on your system resources.
:)
it need more ram than avg 7
and its slow down little bit even my computer also
now i'm using avg 7
AVG is definitely better than Norton and I used AVG for about 2 years. I switched to Eset NOD32. It isn't as user friendly but seems to use even less of the system resources and is supposedly better for detecting viruses. I haven't been using it long enough to back that up with my personal experience though.

If your talking about the fully loaded AVG protection suite then yes.
The free AVG virus scanner uses very few resources except when scanning
NOW if you installed and left everything as default, every day when you start the machine it will start a full scan and this most definitely slows things down.
I've turned off daily scanning and manually scan once a week or so.
IF you look in the options you can do the same
Nope I use it and no problem with it
All antivirus products use system resources causing some slowdowns but as far as AVG goes, it uses far less system resources than some of the others (such as Norton and McAfee).
