AGV found a virus dropper.small and AGV says it is unable to get rid of it?

so i googled the virus and can't seem to find a plain old "dropper.small" virus. everything is trojan-dropper.small with about 100 different types. What should I do? Any recommendations for a download to get rid of this? thanks

EDIT - By putting the virus in the vault, you isolate it from the rest of your computer. So the virus still remains but can't harm your computer in any way. It's like putting Osama Bin laden in jail!

Did you try quarantining the virus? I think AVG can certainly put it in the Virus Vault. If it still doesn't succeed, restart your Windows in Safe Mode (press F8 when your computer is booting), and scan again with AVG. It will easily detect and remove the virus.

:)

As for the name of the virus, different anti-virus companies have different names for the same file.

spyware as said, but spyware blaster only protects against incoming, if its already there, you'll need a scanner like spybot 1.5 updated.
trojan-dropper or trojan.dropper.small, is not an actual virus, is it more of a complicated spyware, and AVG will not be able to get rid of it. You need antispyware along with AVG to clean this up. You can Get Spyware Blaster to safely remove spyware.

It takes a little time to install it and get it up and running. But once I did, I really liked the way it acted and I like the splash screen. I immediately ran it, and was pleased with its performance.

Then get Ad-Aware also from download.com and run it the first time doing a Full System Scan. Thereafter, run a Smart Scan daily.

Keep them both updated and use them often.
usually when avg can't remove a virus it will provide a link to its website where you can find more detailed instructions on how to remove it. this happened to me a couple times.
